Day trip to Black Forest

Hi,
I will be spending several days is Riquewihr France in mid May. I would love to take a day trip into Germany, visiting the Black Forest. We will have a car.
I am uncertain what towns, and what route would be most scenic for day trip. We love picturesque, quaint towns, good food and wine, lovely scenery.
